A Lear jet takes us from Vancouver to Honolulu, a 6 hr trip with no toilet on board.
Tarmac transfer in the heat, at Honolulu. Customs come to us. NZ plane waiting with Dr Andy Cameron and Kyra, Flight nurse.

Into SPA (South Pacific Air Ambulance)
A non comfort long flight for Tim - only option is sedation. The stretcher is 1cm longer than Tim.
A commercial flight is highly recommended for long distance transfers.
Christmas Island
Refuelling. The tarmac needs a spot of work.
Off to Apia to refuel again. I gave up on photos, struggling with severe tummy pain (motion sickness). Thanksgoodness Andy
could hold my hand and give me IV cyclizine!
In Auckland 1am Saturday 28.3.09
after 19 hours in the air, and a 24 hr trip.
Off to Middlemore Hospital. Little did we know
we'd be there over 13 weeks.
